Four Quant Mutual Fund schemes – Quant Tax Plan, Quant Active Fund, Quant Small Cap Fund, and Quant Mid Cap Fund – are occupying the top slots among all equity mutual funds in the five-year horizon. The schemes managed to deliver the highest CAGR returns on lumpsum amounts.
Quant Tax Plan, Quant Active Fund, Quant Small Cap Fund, and Quant Mid Cap Fund have delivered CAGR returns of 21.80%, 21.60%, 20.54%, and 19.63% respectively on lumpsum investment. Rs 1 lakh invested on September 28, 2017 in these schemes would have become Rs 2.45-2.68 lakh, depending on the scheme. In other words, their investments in these schemes have earned returns of around 19.63-21.80% in five years.
The current value of Rs1 lakh invested in Quant Tax Plan would have been Rs 2.68 lakh with a CAGR of 21.80%. If the same amount were invested in Quant Active Fund, it would be worth Rs 2.65 lakh with a CAGR of 21.60%. The investment in Quant Small Cap Fund would have grown to Rs 2.54 lakh, offering a CAGR of 20.54%. The investment in Quant Mid Cap Fund would be Rs 2.45 lakh (CAGR of 19.63%).
Looking at the five-year data further, we found out that Quant Active Fund managed to outperform its benchmark in the years 2017, 2020, and 2021. Quant Small Cap Fund has outperformed its benchmark in four out of five years. Quant Mid Cap Fund has performed better than its benchmark in 2020 and 2021 and also managed to contain its downside in 2018. Quant Tax Plan has been able to beat its benchmark in 2020 and 2021.

We considered a five-year horizon as most investors are advised to invest in equity mutual funds with a minimum investment horizon of five years.
